The Beautiful San Blas Islands

There are over 378 islands located in the Northwest of Panama facing the Caribbean Sea. They are scattered around in an area of about 100 square miles. World wide they are unique in many ways and are home to the indigenous Kuna Indians.

The San Blas Islands are the number #1 vacation destination in Panama and probably in whole of Central America.

This is because the Islands have not yet been discovered by the massive tourism industry and controlled by the native Kuna indians.

The Kuna’s protect their lands against massive tourism and keep them healthy and beautiful. This makes the San Blas Islands of Panama unique. This is the place to be if you are searching for untouched nature and culture. The vast majority of the 378 islands have no inhabitants, but on some of the larger ones are inhabited.  Islands such as Aguja Island, Guanidup Island, Chichimei, Yandup Island and El Porvenir are probably the most populated. Don’t forget when you visit the San Blas Islands, to try some of the delicious traditional Kuna food.
